We source wines from renowned Australian wineries in Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia and South Australia. We care about where the grapes came from, how they were tended and how the wines were made. Such detail needn’t be reserved for the great wines of Europe; Australia is an enormous country with different soil types, climates, inspirations and people. The combination of each of these elements is what makes every wine unique. In other words, Australian wine is not one-size-fits-all.
Nor does Australia aspire to be an imitator of “old world” wines. If you read through our winemaker stories, it is true that a common thread is their time spent overseas working and learning from some of the world’s finest vintners. But those lessons are foundations for their own unique, fresh styles.
One more thing. The wines in our portfolio were crafted for the Australian market. They’re not mass production wines made to fit a foreign dynamic or a reviewer’s palate. In most cases fewer than 1,000 cases were produced. They are wines that Aussies drink at home and at restaurants.
We feel that the best sort of wine – no matter where it’s from – is one that imbues you with a feeling for the land, the winemaker’s style and the local palate. And that’s what we hope these Australian wines give to you.
